"[This] is Mastodon's first single to reach the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, reaching #33. It was also nominated for a Grammy for "Best Metal Performance", but lost to Slayer's Eyes of the Insane (a great band to lose to though, Slayer is legendary)."
"The song's title is a homage to the Genesis song The Colony of Slippermen."
Colony of Birchmen:
See you guys later! What are some of your favorite bands? I am interested in expanding my Trance (and Metal too, but don't need as much help with that) knowledge so please share what you have and like. Let me know in the comments. Thanks!

I like Mastodon, probably one of the most popular new bands I can stand to listen to.
that's some great music, thanks for sharing.
I prefer Trance over Metal. :)
Is that... a river of blood?
Nice, my face was sufficiently melted
never really got into mastodon
Have you ever seen them live?
Not all my favorite type, but its still good stuff as I love all music check my blog out !
Good song. I really liked it.
Great video, and nice song :)
I saw Mastodon when they co-headlined with Dethklok. I love their music, but I have to say that they didn't seem very in to it....Which was VERY disappointing seeing how they were performing in their home state.
Loved the rifts but disliked the singer. Cool nonetheless.
Oh man, I used to love mastodon.
Nostalgia city.
ABBA would say: "..thank you for the music.."
thanks! its always a pleasure to discover new nice songs :D
anyways nice blog, ill follow and support you!
Haven't listened to Mastodon very much, but some friends of mine are great fans of it.
Also, you could've warned that you are changing your blog url address, already thought you deleted it. :(
@akrater, I know I should have but it was a long dreadful process, changing the code and links on various other sites and I jumped the gun. I figured most people would still be routed to the right place, but I was wrong. I will let people know of changes like that ahead of time from now on!
Thanks for all the comments everyone.
Check out my blog I have an interesting story about the guitarist for Mastodon...
